I'm okay either way with pommer or pomer, but the focus here was to get the
prefix correct.  "Pommeranian" isn't English, so I fixed it.  All of the
OED's quotations, whether about Germans, Kashubs, the territory itself, or
the dogs, are spelled "Pomeranian", probably a hybrid of German "Pommern"
and Polish "Pomorze".   Sometimes we find "Pomoranian" for
Kashubian/Cassubian/Kaszub)ian) to distinguish it from "Pomeranian" for the
Germanic variety. but this seems to be obsolete.
