Yes, and it's a fair point - not that the IAB's RFC is fair or even valid - but it's fair point that a very big downside of using DNS for STIR is: we'd be using DNS, which means we'd never be able to extend it if we needed to.  We'd have to be very sure it's the right solution for the problem.
