To me the only experience comparable to US visa process and customs
treatment is that of Russia.

This, with Canada and EU - despite their common 'western' founds there
is an interesting comparison to be made among each questions on the
arrival cardboards - are you a member of that party or organization, 
participated at war even as a civilian(!), health and farms, ever
visited this other country, carry this amount of money, etc... - how
different are their fears facing foreigners.  Some fear things others
dont care.
