you put it a bit more comprehensibly than I did. (smile)

but yes, you descirbe the real risk.

if we are talking about two meetings which intersect in time and space
but have few things in common, then it *might* work. but this implies
distinct and non-coupled registrations, no automatic cross-attendance,
etc etc.  

the notion of "bringing the two communities together" will draw heavy,
heavy pounding from the 16-inch guns.  folks on this end don't WANT
the communities brought together. (assertion of my sense of things)
