Looking at Zafar's reply, I do not feel any uncomfortable.
Kireeti claimed hardware cannot do something. Zafar just showed an implementation example to justify.
I my opinion, the implementation practice should be encouraged.

The draft has been implemented for the exact (SLID) use-case on hardware platforms based on Broadcom Jericho2 family of ASIC

No such issue was noted


And Jericho2 is the only thing that counts in the entire world?
