I agree fully with Dave on this Design Team issue.

The currrent situation is causing serious tensions and legitimizes
serious unwarranted attacks on the intergity of Design Team
participants, even when the Design Team output is clearly placed into
the WG for open discussion and modification.

Until Design Teams are made legitimate, we have a serious problem.

My own recent experiences in the SMTP-EXT WG are all the proof of this
that I need;-).  I will think again very carefully before I
participate in another Design Team effort in the interests of helping
a WG.  It very nearly made enemies of good friends!  

Anybody wanna see my scars?

However, the SMP spectacle is another that perhaps more of you have
noticed.
