I've seen a lot of handwaving but nothing really solid.

Having worked remotely for most of the past 45 years, I have found
that there is no substitute for occasional in person meetings and some
socalizing like dinners or just sitting around with coffee. For me
once or twice a year has done the trick.

R's,
John

PS: there's a definite correlation between the quality of the coffee and
the quality of the interactions
