There are flights from Toronto, New York, Washington, and Atlanta to
Tokyo and Seoul, and a 16 hr flight from New York or Toronto to Hong Kong.
There is a 19 hour flight from New York to Singapore, premium economy
and biz class only. HKG and SIN take longer now that they can't fly
over Russia.

Other than that, east Asia requires connecting in one of those cities
or on the west coast of North America.

Ottawa is a secondary airport with less than great connections. As
Mike noted, it's often easier to go to Montreal or Toronto instead.
