The good thing about this is that there is no time pressure; even if there may be some future need for this document, there is no current need for the current round of implementors, whereas getting the base specs out is pretty important.

Of course, the bad thing about this is that there is no time pressure, and I would hate to see softwire spend the next two or four years arguing about this document.

But with those caveats in mind, this sounds like a good idea.
