Much more interesting is the calendar integration (which now also exists).

The mail announcements usually have outdated information by the time I read them, so their net value is actually negative.

16 years ago, there used to be a way to do this kind of announcement properly (RFC 4287, if you don’t remember), but that seems to have fallen out of fashion…
