I'm not quite sure what you're looking for here, but Firefox does allow you
to
select your search provider both globally and on a per-search basis. The
former
is done via Preferences > Search. The latter is done by having a list of
search providers at the bottom of the suggestions offered by the AwesomeBar,
and you can click to send the searches there. Note that you'll need to turn
off Search Suggestions because that's implemented by sending your partial
queries to the selected search provider. This is also done in Preferences >
Search.
