I was fishing for a way to combine 2 TLS sessions to the same host using 
different ALPN codes into one session.

The context was adding something like a way to distribute a supported features 
list without polluting the KE protocol.

I could imagine other infrequent lightweight NTP related protocols that could 
also benefit from being authenticated.  The obvious one is distributing leap 
info.
