I think the ratio of meeting revenue that funds the IETF operations has gone down significantly in the past years.  The 2020 budget can be found at:

By my reading, for 2020

  meeting revenue  $3,818,999
  meeting expenses $4,110,242

A loss of $291K.

This is, of course, pre COVAD 19.    It would be good to know what this would look like for all remote for 2020.   I suspect it is a work in progress, but at I would like to know what it is in regard to what would be a reasonable registration fee.
