That is an interesting article, thanks for the viewpoint.
Where I am, we find that DHCP is cost-effective and efficient, and helps us
find hosts easily 99+% of the time.  We do poll the routers and switches
for IP/MAC/port mapping, but to poll all our devices takes much longer than
the DHCP lease time and is expensive in terms of traffic, servers, and
storage.  NAC and 802.1x would be very expensive.
So DHCP is the best solution for us.  Please support it.
