Initially, the requested "old" prefix did not get nack'd after the expiry date, resulting in an "outage" of around 10 seconds, so approx. 10 secs without v6 connectivity.  These days, the old requested / hinted prefix gets nacked by the dhcpv6 server, enforcing new state machine cycle.  This works very well.

Indeed.   The question is, should we increase the number of instances in which they are forced to handle it, or no?

If this generates phone calls, they may change their minds.   It's early days yet.
