Well,

as non-US / non-Canadian citizen, in my case the shorter queue with much longer sojourn times and strict queuing caused me to miss my 06:00 flight, even though I was about 100 min before gate closing at the airport... Apparently there was holiday season not only for Europeans but Asians too. The split of 3-4 customs inspectors for the foreigners vs. 8-10 for US/Canadians (who are more likely to know the procedure and language) didn't exactly help...

Teaching queuing theory in primary school might ultimately help fixing these issues at airports, supermarkets, bus stops, ...

Next time, I'll be using Toronto again to enter the states, they have different queuing there (queuing by priority [time to departure] rather than nationality...).
