Martin, Spencer,

I understand this problem. However, I'll point out that for many active
WG chairs/editors and in particular IESG and IAB members the week is
pretty packed. Publication of additional information about side meetings
may not help, if there simply isn't other time to move sessions to. Just
as a data point, yesterday for lunch slot I had two things that I wanted
to be at in addition to the traceback Bar BoF. For the after-plenary
slot, I had two overlapping Bar BoFs and a directorate dinner.

In any case, I'm not sure its a good trend that our Bar BoFs are
becoming more like official meetings, with rooms, presentations, etc.
I'm glad there are many Bar BoFs, but they should probably be held as
informally as possible. In an informal discussion, it is much easier to
admit that something is a bad idea, make drastic changes to the
direction, find cool new ways to handle a problem, etc. And there should
not be a requirement that an AD or IAB member must participate, for
instance. I'm also thinking that it would probably increase the quality
of these meetings if the organizers were required to buy at least two
rounds to the participants :-)
