Hello,

German is on the list of "Summary of Countries and Territories entitled for Visa Exemption and Visa on Arrival to Thailand "
http://www.thaiembbeij.org/upload/downloads/pdf/visa/7_List-of-countries-cn.pdf

You may just use the tourist visa. You are both a tourist and meeting man. It is easy.

Heho,
I am currently facing the same issue (German passport). The consulate in Amsterdam insists that I need a Type-B visa, and requests a full range of documents about TU Delft (full financial report of the last year, overview of employees etc., signed and sealed by the executive board of TU Delft, including copies of their passports). In addition, from the company that is employing me in Thailand (I presume that this means THNic), they also want a copy of the passport of the person signing the LOI in addition to the LOI, signed and sealed financial reports of the current year, official registration, list of employees etc.

I opened a case with IETF registrar for this, and hope to figure this out before the meeting.

However, would it maybe be possible that THNic tries to find some authoritative information on the needed visa type?
