Well DNSSEC is one option. There are others:
	using a VPN, IPec or some other encrypted tunnel
	pointing your (plaintext) queries at a resolver you consider trusted
	run a validating resolver on your device
	use a "special" DNS client like Cisco Anyconnect or IBM Endpoint Manager*
	
* These sorts of clients are very popular with roving enterprise users who *cannot and must not* trust the coffee shop resolver.
