+1. This is a good way to proceed. In bierwg we were given similar direction due to having several proposals for bier and ipv6 (we could still use guidance on this from 6man). We are subsequently developing a requirements document which also describes all of the proposals inc. header format comparisons: draft-ietf-bier-ipv6-requirements. We may want to do the same in 6man prior to considering adoption of any new proposals.
