Hi Brian,

I am copying Routing ADs to get their perspective and pointing them to my original email objections to this adoption call https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/ipv6/-ikF-zt_muGxz4exwjx0ZTWZpHY/

Please check inline.

Because it's only WG adoption. There is no requirement for supporting documentation at this stage in the IETF process.

It's not long ago that I recall an AD saying to a WG that formal requirements and use case documents are usually a waste of time anyway.

[KT] I could agree if it is a standalone piece of work and something that is not a new solution/architecture that is going to result in several 10s of drafts/work in other WGs (this is not a guess – the authors have proposed a few such drafts already in routing area WGs that perhaps people in 6man are not aware of).

Maybe the IESG has changed its mind about that recently? But in any case, it's a Routing Area decision whether CRH is a good idea;

[KT] Agree. And has this question been asked of the Routing Area? If not, is it ok to adopt CRH work in 6man without their decision? If yes, what is their decision? And what were the documents/details that they referred to arrive at such a decision (I ask since the CRH draft seems short on details from a solution perspective to me).

Thanks,

Ketan

6MAN is not the place for that part of the discussion.
