"dual stack" is what involves some encapsulation and some translation. 
E.g. RFC4213, note the "and":

On another hand, "double stack" is IPv4 and IPv6 at the same time, 
without any encapsulation nor translation, nor DNS-v4-v6.  Just IPv4, 
IPv6 and DNS.
