HNCP/Babel is exactly what we needed.

IETF bickering delayed that for 3+ years, and the market has sailed - 
there was a critical time window when plastic routers started adding
IPv6 support.  Homenet missed that opportunity, discussing routing
protocol options instead.  Now, plastic routers have IPv6 support,
and vendors see no incentive to add more code.

Feature velocitiy in pastic routers usually is paid for by ISPs ordering
tens of thousands, and I have heard clear voices that ISPs are not 
interested in features that help their customers to do multihoming
with the competition...
