+1 for the tradition. And, lawyers have been consulted, that is why it is a
legal issue and big name positions fall where they do.

Very dangerous territiry. Skype's lawyer is not your lawyer and does not
represent your interests in your relevant jurisdiction.

The ietf always punts on legal issues, and it is best that way. It stinks
because anyone can introduce FUD.

The ietf is not a patent cartel like 3gpp and mpeg.
