Well, gee.  Trenton has excellent train service from three separate 
carriers (Amtrak, NJ Transit, and SEPTA), and frequent reliable rail 
connections to two major international airports, EWR, and PHL.  Meeting 
and hotel space are cheap, and there are some hoagie shops that wouldn't 
kill you.  Washington's Crossing, Princeton, New Hope PA, and the Jersey 
Shore* are quick side trips.

But perhaps ease of transportation for people from Los Angeles isn't the 
only relevant criterion.  I like Québec better.
