I actually love Minneapolis as a venue. The main hotel is large, and the facilities for meetings very good. Lots of nearby bars, cafes etc.

While secondary (non hub) cities make the travel on average that bit longer or more fraught with problems, I would far rather have a secondary venue where the meeting experience is excellent than have easier travel to a (relatively) poor venue.

Quebec had two large hotels right by the meeting rooms. Those rooms were more than ample for our purpose, all on-site facilities and support were excellent, and within 5-10 minutes walk you had a wide range of bars, restaurants and shops. As a bonus, there was some lovely scenery too. I had serious problems with my connecting flight from Montreal, but the meeting itself was great.
