Dean,

I guess it all depends on where you start from.

SFO-ORD = about 4 hours

ORD-YQB = about 2 hours

Totalt ime: about half of what you're citing.

Granted that wasn't what I did, but I don't think it's a particularly 
unusual routing or outside of norm average. I went via Montreal which
has a lot more flights in and out and then took the train, but I could
have flown a short flight also.
