One nice thing about QC is that, even though we were in a conference 
center and not within a hotel, there was an attached hotel that was 
just as convenient.  Often, conference centers mean a lack of 
close-by hotels (e.g., Vienna, Montreal last time; Maastricht had a 
next-door hotel, but it was not large enough for everyone).
